Cherie does a great job of making things such as raw cheese doable in this book. I have never been able to stomach Rejuvelac. But, with Cherie’s suggestion of a tea to add. I have no problem drinking it. If you are vegan and just want add a few raw recipes this would be a good book.

I was expecting a book filled with delicious recipes worthy of the reputation that Cherie Soria deserves, but was very disappointed to find that about half the recipes in the book were for cooked food. Cherie has become the beacon of raw food gourmet and I suspect this book was written a little earlier in her journey. The recipes themselves that I have tried have been wonderful. Other than the high ratio of cooked recipes, I can’t find another thing wrong with this book and if you are transitioning to a raw food diet or just want some really really good vegan recipes, I’d go for it.

You will not find a better person to lead you into this heavenly way of being in the world. Cherie is that rare individual who walks her talk impeccably and authentically. Love infuses every interaction, every instruction and every recipe. Her light shines through every single page and you can’t help but be warmed by it.

If you thought being vegan meant giving up cheese and creamy desserts, you are about to be enlightened. There isn’t one meal you could name that Cherie can’t replicate with a vegan substitute, and raw at that. Imagine eating chocolate mousse and not getting fat. Imagine a flat tummy from eating easily digested food and boundless energy from all the available nutrition your body was able to assimilate. All without one moment of sacrifice. If you’re like me you’ll actually prefer the taste and texture of the raw vegan versions of all your old favorites. This book gives you plenty of cooked meals too so the leap into raw vegan isn’t so wide.

Get this book now. I promise you, you will love it. And you’ll see why she’s behind just about every successful raw vegan chef out there. She has taught them all. And if you ever get the chance, take some of her classes at The Living Light Institute in Fort Bragg, CA http://www.rawfoodchef.com

    En-LIGHT-ening! :)

If you are looking for excellent raw cuisine, or if you are interested in great vegan recipes, try this book. Having experimented with both for 20 years, I find this book to be among the best in either genre. Almost every recipe I’ve tried is truly noteworthy, but the living foods recipes stand out as both delicious and easy to prepare. Highly recommended — by someone who is not big on angels, but who loves to eat well, and hates a lot of prep.
